The gel electrophoresis and Western blot instruments in this laboratory were purchased by the aid of MedInProt grant. The instruments are able to study the effect of treatments on protein level in cells (e.g. tumour cells). The type and amount of receptors can be defined on the cells and the influence of drug - peptide conjugates on receptor expression level can be detected by this method. Moreover, changes in the quantity of specific proteins in signal transduction pathways can be identified.
