Analysis of antigenic structure of proteins. Identificaton of epitopes by classic and combinatorial chemistry. Design of synthetic “superantigens” using peptide and non-peptide epitopes for vaccine and diagnostics development. Prediction, synthesis, conformation and conjugation of viral (herpes simplex virus), bacterial (M.tuberculosis) and tumor associated (mucin) antigenic determinants to synthetic macromolecular carriers. 2. Targeting of antitumour and antimicrobial drugs (e.g. anthracyclines, methotrexate, boron compounds, GnRH) and reporter molecules (fluorophores, radioligands), enzyme substrates and peptide epitopes by oligopeptide or macromolecular bioconjugates. Analysis of mechanism of actions by proteomics. 3. Development of bioconjugation
chemistry for covalent coupling of
small molecules (epitopes, drugs, reporter molecules) to proteins or
peptides.
